About

My father was a baker. He owned and operated Harmony Bakery in Palo Alto California, which is where I learned to use my hands. In college at UC Berkeley I studied philosophy of rhetoric, with intentions to pursue law, but one day I built something out of wood and I dropped everything to pursue woodcraft.

I started Next Bevel in 2016 in my garage in the Bay Area, CA, and was accepted to the Krenov school of fine woodworking for the 2017-2018 session, where my understanding of wood, tools and patience were brought to the limits of the craft.

In 2023, I moved my family to a two acre ranchette on the border of Keller and Fort Worth Texas and I built the Next Bevel dream shop.

Every aspect of the process happens in this shop: the design, milling, cutting, fitting, and finishing. All done by hand. No shortcuts, no outsourcing, no production runs. I make fewer than a dozen pieces a year, and that’s not a limitation, it’s the whole philosophy. When you commission a piece from Next Bevel, you’re getting the full weight of my attention from the first conversation to the final coat of finish.

If this sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d be happy to chat with you about your project.
